Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does working with you look like?
Every three months, we ask you for your out-of-pocket expenses, which we use to calculate your accountable plan reimbursements. Based on this information, we run our calculations and tell you how much of reimbursement you can take from your business bank account. We also do your accounting, post adjusting entries, and issue your financials for the quarter. While working on your accounting, we also handle your tax planning and issue your shareholder pay based on the information we gather. At the same time, we calculate your retirement contributions (if applicable) and ensure you withhold enough taxes through your S Corp paycheck to cover your estimated individual tax liability for the year. We will do this four times a year. In February of the following year, we will prepare your 1120-S tax return and issue your K-1 form so that you can file your individual tax returns on time. We understand that bookkeeping and taxes are boring and stressful. That's why we make sure our accounting process is easy on you and your mental health! We got you covered!
  • How do I start working with you?
Please contact us for an initial consultation. If you are starting out, we will guide you in the right direction. If you already have an established S Corp, we will want to see your prior S Corp tax returns and accounting records before we start working with you
  • Besides your monthly fee, are there any other costs I should expect?
Initial legal fees: If you're just setting up your S Corp, we'll handle all the necessary paperwork. For a one-shareholder S Corp, our setup fee is $527 plus state fees. But you can also set up your S Corp yourself. Individual tax returns: Tax work for individual returns is billed separately and not included in your monthly membership. Since everyone's financial situation is different, tax return fees will vary based on the complexity of your tax return. We'll need to see a copy of your prior tax return to provide a quote. But you are welcome to prepare your individual tax return yourself. Additional tax planning: Any additional tax planning sessions not related to your S Corp activity may incur a separate charge, depending on the complexity of the tax question. Research on reasonable compensation. Unfortunately, only S Corp owners can decide on the amount of their reasonable compensation. You'll need to do this research yourself or use RCR reports for more audit-proof data. Other than that, your monthly fee covers all tax and accounting services for your S Corp!
  • Does S Corp Hub have charges a set up fee?
Yes, there is a one-time onboarding fee of $250. This fee ensures that your business is set up correctly, registered with the appropriate agencies, and in compliance with payroll requirements. It also covers catching up and cleaning up your year-to-date bookkeeping.
  • Why S Corb Hub does not help everyone?
Our clients are high-income, self-employed individuals who do not have the time or ability to keep up with tax regulations and bookkeeping. This includes self-employed doctors, architects, consultants, real estate agents, e-commerce owners, engineers, and more. We also work with more complicated S Corps that have complex accounting setups and multiple owners. However, due to the intensity of the accounting work and different tax situations, our service fees for them are higher. Unfortunately, we do not service partnerships or Schedule C owners, as this is not our niche.
  • When can I cancel?
Any time, with 30 days' notice. No refund will be provided, even if we haven't had a chance to prepare your tax return. This is because our accounting services lead up to the preparation of your accurate S Corp tax return. Upon cancellation, we will provide you with a copy of your year-to-date financials, our accountable plan worksheets and prior S Corp tax returns.
